Sardine Clothing Company began in 2002 as one woman’s endeavor in creating children’s garments from re-purposed fabrics. This practice has developed into a line of sustainable, “eco-chic,” apparel and accessories for men, women, and children rounded by the responsibly concepts of Eco-friendly design. Each piece is not only 100% handmade but 100% unique and assembled locally in Philadelphia, PA. Handmade can be defined as, “something made by an individual as a unique item rather than one made by mass production.” We hope that you appreciate the craftsmanship involved in each piece and support all things handmade.

I love making hats!!! I love color,fibers and the whole creative process involved! I love every aspect of it! I love talking to people about what they want for a hat and then creating their vision. I work with a variety of fibers including some of my own hand-spun and hand dyed fibers/yarn.I crochet all my hats and no two are exactly the same! I make hats for men,woman and children. I am from Philly and love that I help keep my community warm!

Aaron Weber is an artist and crafter currently based out of West Philadelphia. A little bit photographer, a little bit printer, a little bit crafty gentleman, Aaron has a habit of not sticking to 1 type of product. Be prepared to see pictures from various travels and local areas, ornaments made from wooden puzzles and toy blocks, buttons and magnets and other goodies made from a bunch of Highlights magazines he found in his Mom’s basement, etc. Everything is priced to sell, and make great stocking stuffers! i was born in a little town in pennsylvania in 1974. i was the last of six children. my father made septic tanks. my mother had a delicious hall closet stocked with remnants of fabrics and tins of buttons and bags of yarn. this was my favorite place in the house. my sisters were in the high school marching band and my brother was on the football team. i made myself costumes and twirled batons in the front yard. i suppose this is where it all started.

i studied fashion design at the former philadelphia college of textiles and science, now philadelphia university, where i currently teach. i also studied at the london college of fashion. while in london, i sold my clothes at camden market. i then decided i hated it and moved to amsterdam. i sold at a few boutiques there and loved it but i was homesick and moved back to philadelphia.

i put together small fashion collections in philadelphia and sold at a few boutiques there. i moved back to the woods of northeastern pennsylvania and opened a vintage shop for a few years. i discovered yoga. i auditioned for a reality show called project runway. i won the first season.

i met molly ringwald.

i currently live and work in philadelphia.
